LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — Food, wine, and generosity flowed in abundance Wednesday night at the Lodge of Four Seasons Granada Ballroom for the March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction. Tens of thousands of dollars poured into the charity that helps research and prevent premature births and promote healthy pregnancies.
A silent auction filled with packages ranging from winery gift baskets to Kansas City Royals tickets greeted the hundreds of attendees. The perimeter of the ballroom was lined with nearly two dozen tables featuring local chefs and offering their finest creations.
Rick Bryant of Bryant Auction hosted a high-energy auction in which extravagant packages were sold to benefit the charity. Among the packages: a privately catered 12-course dinner by JJ's at the Copper Pot, and the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at a St. Louis Cardinals game during the 2014 season.
Amidst the many highlights of the evening, the event's Ambassador Family won the hearts of those around the room, as Robert and Kristine Sills told the story of their baby Kensey, born nearly a year ago, but two months premature. Kensey was helped by March of Dimes research, and the family encouraged attendees to continue their support of the charitable organization.
Great job everyone!
