RECREATION & TOURISM!
Welcome to Lake of the Ozarks! With the dramatic backdrop of rolling hills and lush valleys the Lake of the Ozarks and surrounding area spans roughly 58,000 acres and encompasses more than 1,100 miles of shoreline. The Lake area offers something for everyone, from golfing, boating, fishing, hunting and camping to fine dining and shopping.
Indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities abound. With more than 100 restaurants, many of them with spectacular views of the lake, dining out can be one of the most pleasurable experiences. One may even dine aboard one of several dinner cruise ships, enjoying the magnificent sunsets the Lake is famous for.
The Lake area has become one of the Premier Golf Destinations in the Midwest. Golfers have their choice of at least a dozen different courses. Championship layouts by Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Weiskopf, Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and others, provide golfers of all skill levels an unforgettable golf getaway. Thanks to the relatively mild winters, courses open early in the year and remain open through late fall.
Visitors from all over the Midwest come to the Lake for shopping. Topping the list of most shoppers is the Osage Beach Premium Outlet Mall, one of the largest in Missouri and one of the Lake's biggest attractions. Located in the heart of Osage Beach, this 61-acre, 13 building mall offers 100 outlets featuring everything from clothing to home decor.
The Lake of the Ozarks is a boater's paradise. Whether it is relaxing peacefully in a quiet cove or joining the crowd at Party Cove, residents and visitors all agree that the Lake of the Ozarks is the place for boating. Boats of all sizes from ocean-going yachts to go fast boats can be seen on the Lake. Personal watercraft are also a popular choice for residents and vacationers alike. Numerous marine dealers offer boat and personal watercraft sales and rentals.
Fishing, hunting and camping continue to lure tourists to the Lake. For fishermen, the pleasures of the lake are enjoyed all year round. Plentiful white and black bass, largemouth bass, crappie, catfish and spoonbills provide the angler with countless hours of enjoyment.
Hunters maintain that the Lake area affords some of the best locations for pursuit of turkey, deer, rabbit, quail and migratory ducks and geese while campers are attracted to the area's beautiful and serene state parks and campgrounds.
Museums, music halls, caves, not to mention amusement and water parks, are just a few of the many ways visitors can enjoy their time at the Lake.
The Lake of the Ozarks is a vacationer's escape and a homeowner's dream lifestyle.
